Massage
Massage therapy is an essential part of caring for yourself in today’s busy world. At the Brennan Institute, we offer sessions based on the amount of time. This allows for a customized session that meets your needs. Sessions will include a intake to plan for your treatment and will include guidance of follow up care. From TMJ to spinal problems to chronic inflammatory conditions, sessions will address what ails you and help you feel better.
Session rates are $130 (hour) and $170 (hour and a half). Packages are available for clients that need ongoing care. Gift certificates are available.

Modalities include:
Swedish
Swedish massage uses slow compressions to provide relaxation by manipulating muscles and tissue with a light to medium pressure massage to improve circulation and release chronic tension and pain in muscles. Beneficial for post surgery or injury, headaches, rehabilitation, back or neck pain, and personal stress or anxiety.
Aromatherapy
Essential oils provide increased relaxation and stress reduction.
Prenatal and Post-natal
Prenatal massage is used to bring relief to the constant changing body of an expectant mother. Deep tissue techniques are not recommended for prenatal massage. Post-pregnancy massage is a great support for the new mother’s physical and emotional strains.
Deep Tissue
This form of massage focuses not just on the surface muscles, but below the muscles below the surface by using deep strokes on specific target areas. Techniques include Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Neuromuscular Technique. Recommended for individuals with specific discomfort or chronic pain, as well as for headaches or migraines due to muscle tension.
Manual Lymph Drainage
A type of gentle massage intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph through the body. Manual lymph drainage uses a specific amount of pressure and rhythmic circular movements to stimulate lymph flow. A wonderful tool for recovery from surgery, or illness. This method works best in a series of sessions.
Cranial Sacral Therapy
A form of bodywork or alternative therapy focused primarily on the concept of regulating the flow of cerebrospinal fluid by using therapeutic touch to manipulate the synarthrodial joints of the cranium. This technique is beneficial in treating stress, anxiety, headaches, chronic pain, fatigue and attention disorders.
Sports Massage
Timely massage related to your favorite workout/sport for pre or post event care can provide timely treatment to help your body perform in peak condition and recover more quickly while reducing chances of injury and stress. Great for runners and cyclists that have a repetitive motion to their sport and need to recover from their workouts. See Deep Tissue above.
Cupping
A great add on to any massage--particularly good as an add on to deep tissue massage or sports massage. Different size massage "cups" are used to suction the tissue and increase blood flow and alleviate adhesions. Great for detoxing chronically tight muscles and to recover from overdoing it in sport/fitness. The work may leave red marks on the body that look like bruises.
